Alaska (formerly Jaqi) came to live with me shortly after her third birthday in November 2013. Alaska has been a very good dog and adapted quickly to her new living arrangement. At first she was a little awkward and kept banging in to things but a few months on, she is much more adjusted. She lives with Cooper who is a doberman x staffy, who has helped to teach her how to act more like a dog. She loves going to the dog beach and has even started to enjoy dipping her toes in the water.
She is a very lovely dog and is so gentle and easy going. The other day she came up to me and lifted up her paw. I wondered what she was doing, but when I looked under her foot I saw that she had a thorn stuck in her pad and that she had come to me for help. Apparently it is quite unusual for animals to ask humans for help.
She is so easy to walk, and just strolls along next to me. Sometimes I go for a jog and while I feel like I am going quite quickly, I look at Alaska and she is just walking! She loves to chase her squeaky toy and so I have seen her run a few times which is very impressive.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to adopt Alaska.
