I was sent 7 month old Iris’s profile by a friend in June 2022 and she joined our family that weekend. She became known as ‘Ivy’ quite quickly as my brain kept calling her ‘Ibis’ which would result in her being nicknamed ‘the bin chicken’.
Ivy’s eye was injured as a baby which left her half blind but that doesn’t stop her, she spends her days playing with her big sister Cass the Border Collie and following her cats around the house. Ivy is a fantastic speed noodle who’s legs definitely move faster than her brain, she loves to do zoomies and enjoys nothing more than chasing her doggy friends around the swamp at Wookie Dogs in the Swan Valley.
Ivy bravely took on the role of a flower girl at our wedding in August 2022 and has recently become a big sister to her first human baby sister in August 2023. She really is a huge part of our family and it’s hard to imagine doing this all without her!
A huge thank you to Alice for sharing your “Success Story” with Greyhound Adoptions WA.
