In November a little black bundle of stubbornness and mischief called Evie entered my life. She’s been a great match for me being slightly stubborn and mischievous myself. I was fortunate that Evie had been looked after by a lovely foster family who have been so helpful to a novice Greyhound owner.
I’ve found that Evie’s preferred sleeping location, for 23 hours a day, is any piece of carpet not covered by a rug and that she has more changes of sleeping locations in a day than Bridgerton cast have costume changes in a season.
And then there’s the 1 hour of power. Evie’s a Digger. You know the hole is deep when all you can see are a pair of ears showing above ground. I reckon she could teach BHP a thing or two about mine shafts. Evie also loves birds and happily chases them all around the oval. And there is nothing more beautiful than watching Evie sprinting around the local oval. The funny part is watching the birds try to catch her. And at the end of her power hour she indulges in her passion for sleep.
Thank you, John Tooney for sharing your “Success Story” with Greyhound Adoptions WA.
