My husband and I have always loved greyhounds, and after buying our first home in 2016 we decided it was the right time to add to our family. The moment I met Soda, I knew it was just a no-brainer that I was going to adopt him, it was instant love.
A few weeks later, we were driving our forever boy home. I sat in the backseat with him whilst my husband drove us home. I remember blaming the fart smell on my husband, but it turns out it was Soda who had the toots!
Soda adjusted to pet life amazingly, the first night he slept between us in our bed. I woke up to his feet in my face and his chopstick legs poking into my back whilst my husband was peacefully sleeping and spooning Soda’s less pointy side.
Since adopting Soda, he has been a brilliant brother to 10 foster siblings (including his foster failed sisters, Poppy and Belle!).
Every day we watch Soda do the most awkward zoomies, laugh at his derp tongue always hanging out of his mouth, and constantly clean the nose drips on our hardwood floors.
Adopting Soda changed our life more than we imagined. Through him we have made life-long friends with other greyhound families, based our life around volunteering and sharing why more people should adopt this breed, and completed our family with foster failing Poppy and Belle. He is my forever soulmate.
Thank you, Em for sharing your “Success Story” with Greyhound Adoptions WA.
