Success Story: Scout

We adopted Scout over a year ago and she’s become such an important part of our lives. When we first brought her home, we were a little nervous about how she would adapt to her new life. She settled in wonderfully and we fell in love with her affectionate and playful personality immediately.

Scouts very food motivated, so that’s been helpful in helping her learn new tricks. She’s mastered “speak,” “lay down,” “go to bed,” and “touch” (though the execution of said tricks might depend on how stubborn she is on the day!)

She’s got her quirks; our favourite being her uncontainable excitement when she sees one of her greyhound friends – she bounces and spins around in circles which is such an amusing sight. The way she contorts herself in usual sleeping positions is also hilarious impressive, if not mildly concerning at times. A less favourable quirk is her penchant for thievery; it began with hoarding our shoes in her bed but she’s learnt her height gives her a convenient advantage at the kitchen counter and works quickly if something takes her fancy.

Adopting Scout has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. She’s become a beloved member of our family, and we can’t imagine life without her. Scout is such a special dog, she makes us laugh every day and we’re so grateful to have her in our lives

❤️ A huge thank you to Lakshmi for sharing your “Success Story” with Greyhound Adoptions WA.
