Success Story: April

We decided to foster last year and were quickly sent the beautiful April. We already had a greyhound and wanted to do something to help these beautiful souls. April was a bit of an older girl coming in at 6-years-old and already having had 2 litters.

Once she settled in with us, we were quick to notice her teeth were in horrible shape. After consulting with vets and Greyhound Adoptions WA, the decision was made to remove every single one of her teeth as they were beyond saving. This went over three procedures over a period of a few months.

We were so happy when she was pain free and all extractions were done. By this stage, we had completely fallen in love with April and could not let her go. She had also developed such a great bond with her greyhound brother. So we foster failed April!

She has bought our family so much joy, love, and laugher with her antics – especially due to her toothlessness we often see her with her tongue poking out! This always leads us to even more laughter. She is definitely a Velcro girl and loves to be loved. She often follows us around everywhere and tries to be as close to you as physically possible (sometimes even shoving her brother out of the way!). We couldn’t be more thankful to Greyhound Adoptions WA for saving her and bringing her into our lives.

❤️ A huge thank you to Jane for sharing your “Success Story” with Greyhound Adoptions WA.
